A grey day after a storm at the Makgadikgadi Pans salt flats in the middle of a dry Botswana savannah. African flamingos arrive by the hundreds to stride through the shallow flats searching for their favorite algae that thrive in these salt lakes. A once in a lifetime opportune image that I have not seen again in my trips to the salt flats.
